St Andrew's Church, Chelmsley Wood

Knit and Natter Group

More than 20 ladies meet every Thursday to develop their knitting techniques; drink tea, eat cake and biscuits and chat.

Over the last couple of years the group has grown and grown and grown - but there's still plenty of room for more. Don't worry if you've never picked up knitting needles before. Many of the group were in just that position, but help, advice and tuition is available from the other members.

Knit Bitz has taken on all kinds of knitting challenges; garments for refugees; clothes for the premature baby unit at Heartlands Hospital; clothes for women's refuges and toys for children who visit their parents in prison. Currently they're knitting clothes for homeless people who will visit Christmas and New Year shelters; teddy bears for children being baptised at St Andrew's and angels for our Christmas nativity scene

Whatever your knitting skills are the conversations and company are good. It's informal, relaxed and fun.
